Dan-Gun is named after the Holy Dan Gun, the legendary founder of Korea in the year 2333 B.C..

Ready Position
 Jun-Bi position


extend arms to right, step out to left

Double Knife Hand Block

Bring arms forward to Double knife hand block

Bring right fist to chest and step in with right foot

Right Walking Punch
Execute right punch in walking stance

The right foot steps in towards the left. Extend arms to left, step out to right.

Double Knife Hand Block
Bring arms forward to Double knife hand block

Bring left fist to chest and step in with left foot

Left Walking Punch
Execute left punch in walking stance.

Left foot steps in toward the right. The left hand is positioned on top of the right hand at shoulder height.

Low Block
Left foot steps into walking stance while executing a left low section block.

Bring right fist to right hip and step in with right foot.

Right Walking Punch
Execute right punch in walking stance.

 

Bring left fist to left hip and step in with left foot.

Left Walking Punch
Execute left punch in walking stance.

Bring right fist to right hip and step in with right foot.

Right Walking Punch
Execute right punch in walking stance.

Right foot steps in toward the left while body turns to face opposite direction. Both fists go to the right hip, with the left fist on top of the right fist.

Twin Outer Forearm Block
Left foot steps into "L" stance while executing left twin outer forearm block.

Bring right fist to right hip and step in with right foot.  

Right Walking Punch
Execute right punch in walking stance.

 

 

Left foot steps in towards the right foot. Both hands go to left hip, with the right fist on top of the left fist.

Twin Outer Forearm Block
Right foot steps into "L" stance while executing right twin outer forearm block.

Bring left fist to left hip and step in with left foot.

Left Walking Punch
Execute left punch in walking stance.

 

Right foot steps in toward left foot. Left hand goes on top of the right hand at shoulder height.

Low Section Block
Left foot steps into walking stance while executing left low section block.

Hands return to position at shoulders with left hand on top.

High Section Block
Execute left high block.

Right foot steps in toward left foot. Right hand goes on top of left hand at shoulder height.

High Block
Right foot steps into walking stance while executing right high block.

Left foot steps in toward right foot. Left hand goes on top of right hand at shoulder height.

High Block
Left foot steps into walking stance while executing left high block.

Right foot steps in toward left foot. Right hand goes on top of left hand at shoulder height.

High Block
Right foot steps into walking stance while executing right high block.

Right foot steps in toward left foot. Body turns to face opposite direction. Left hand goes on top of right hand at shoulder height in front of body. Right hand is open, left hand is in fist.

Knife Hand
Left foot steps in "L" stance while executing left knife hand strike.

Bring right fist to right hip and step in with right foot.

Right Walking Punch
Execute right punch in walking stance.

Right foot steps in toward left foot. Right hand goes on top of left hand in front of body at shoulder height. Right hand open, left hand is in fist.

Knife Hand
Right foot steps into "L" stance while right hand executes right knife hand strike.

Bring left fist to left hip and step in with left foot.

Left Walking Punch
Execute left punch in walking stance.
