Shortly after my son was born I complained to a friend
that none of my “pre-pregnancy” clothes fit me anymore. My friend, who is
also a mom, told me that I should get used to my “post-baby” body because it
was unlikely that I would ever return to my old size. I refused to accept
the idea that my body had to change just because I was a mom. Immediately I
set a goal for myself to get back into shape.
I started coming to Delfs and working out on the
elliptical machine and lifting light weights a few days a week. I
thought this would be enough to change my body, but after one month I saw
only minimum results and was getting bored by my routine. One morning
I decided to try the Cardio Kickboxing class and I loved it!!! A few days later I
tried Casey’s weight training class and was thrilled to have someone who
could show me how to use free-weights properly. I quickly learned that I
could lift much heavier weights than I ever thought I could! In addition to
the changes to my workout program, the staff made me aware of the fact that I
needed to make changes to my eating habits if I wanted to see real results.
I decided to try the eating advice for six weeks and was amazed that I
consistently lost 1-2 pounds a week whole following her suggestions.
My original goal was to return to my “pre-pregnancy”
weight, but by following the program I am now 25 pounds
lighter than I was before I became pregnant. I’ve gone form a size 10 to a
size 4 and I’m in better shape that I’ve been in my entire life. Thank you
delfs', for all your guidance and continued support.
